BTI is a private sector driven training & service providing organization for Boat Building, FRP & Multiday fishing industry (Deep- Sea Fishing) in Sri Lanka. It is a collective of Boat Building Companies interested in the improvement of their business capabilities locally & abroad through upgrading the skills of their employees. In addition it assists deep sea fishing industry in the country by the transfer of improved methods & techniques in deep sea fishing. Its services & training are available for local & foreign persons interested in these two fields of activities. In addition after successful training those interested in employment opportunities local & foreign will be assisted by the BTI.

BTI under its program of empowering the members in their business activities carryout technology improvement and transfer, human resources development, marketing of boats and accessories, lobbying and advocacy in policy related issues and local and foreign investment promotion in boat building.

 

 

The Second Boat Show held in Sri Lanka was concluded successfully on the 26th of April 2010 which attracted local and foreign buyers and a total of over 8000 boating enthusiast from the leisure, marine, tourism, fishing and all other related industries.

The valued support extended by the Ministry of Industrial Development, Sri Lanka Export development Board, National Chamber of Exports, GTZ Boat Building Project, Sri Lanka, Solas Marine, Morex Lanka, Germanischer Lloyd Colombo Plc Ltd was a key factor to make the Boat Show Sri Lanka 2010 a success.

Boat Show Sri Lanka 2010 reached its objective by creating the platform for over 40 leading Boat Manufacturers and industry suppliers to showcase their products and services to a target audience to carry out prospective business deals and to build up a strong business network.

The Boating conference 2010 held on 25th April was yet another value addition to the Exhibition which created a knowledge base to the Boating enthusiast and industry professionals to update themselves and to provide them the necessary guidelines focused towards the pleasure and leisure boating sector which is now becoming the trend in Sri Lanka.

All of the Exhibitors confirmed that they received orders and profitable inquires for their products displayed at the Boat Show and pledged their willingness to participate at the next event, the Boat Show Sri Lanka 2012.

The organizers the BTI together with LECS are planning to add more value to the Boat Show Sri Lanka 2012 by introducing additional features such as display of boats in water, water sports events, sailing and diving demonstrations and experiences etc,
